Historical violinist Naomi Dumas has appeared throughout North America and Europe as soloist and chamber musician, and among ensembles including Il Pomo D’Oro, Le Concert de la Loge, Arion Baroque and the Helsinki Baroque Orchestra. She was recently selected as a finalist for the International Music Competition of the Loire Valley and was appointed first violin solo of “Les Ornements” (formerly Orchestre de Chambre de Colmar) in 2022. Naomi is co-founder of AKOYA, a duo specialized in the unveiling of early works, which will be releasing its first album with ATMA Classique in December 2023. She is a graduate of the Historical Performance program of the Juilliard School and the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, where she had the privilege of studying with Cynthia Roberts, Rachel Podger and Amandine Beyer. Originally from Québec City, Naomi Dumas currently lives in Basel, Switzerland.
