Our 2022 APM will take place March 30, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. EDT.

At our APM, we’ll review what we’ve achieved over the past year and delve into what lies ahead. We’ll also respond to your questions and comments.

Whether you’re new to the arts or a longtime participant, we invite you to join us for a live webcast of the meeting.

What can you expect at our 2022 APM?

On the agenda for our 2022 APM:

  • A review of the Council’s activities so far this year from Michelle Chawla, Director General of Strategy and Public Affairs
  • Reflections from the Council’s Board Chair, Jesse Wente
  • A review of our 2021-26 Strategic Plan in action from Director and CEO Simon Brault
  • A panel discussion moderated by dance artist Rhodnie Désir with Simon Brault and Carolyn Warren, Director General of Arts Granting Programs
  • A question-and-answer period where we answer your questions

Our 2022 APM will include a question-and-answer period during which we will respond to the question you have for us about our work. 

To incorporate as many questions as possible, send your questions to apm@canadacouncil.ca by March 23, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. EDT..

We will try to answer as many questions as possible during the event. If we do not get to your question, or if you think of one after the event, write to us at any point during the year at feedback@canadacouncil.ca. You can also contact our program staff


  • The webcast will be accessible in English and French and include simultaneous sign-language interpretation in ASL and LSQ.

What’s an Annual Public Meeting and why hold one?

As a Crown corporation, the APM is a legal requirement for the Canada Council for the Arts. More than that, we see it as a great opportunity to share annual updates with the arts community and the wider Canadian public.
