Lou Lynn

Lou Lynn is a visual artist. Her work combines the fragility and optical properties of glass with the strength of metal. It focusses on the iconic forms of tools and other functional objects valued for their relevance to craft and role in human culture. Lynn’s work has been shown in numerous national and international exhibitions and is held in public collections.

What is this prize?

As Canada's foremost distinction for excellence in the fine crafts, the Saidye Bronfman Award recognizes the exceptional work of individuals who have made significant contributions to the development of the fine crafts in Canada.

Who created this prize?

In 2007, the Saidye Bronfman Award was placed under the banner of the Governor General’s Awards as a result of a $1.5 million endowment made to the Canada Council by the Samuel and Saidye Bronfman Family Foundation. It is the only prize reserved for artists and artisans working in the fine crafts.
