Daniel Hass
Israeli Canadian cellist and composer Daniel Hass has performed as a soloist and chamber musician across Canada, the US, Europe, Israel and Jamaica. As a composer, Daniel has been commissioned by the Glenn Gould Foundation, the Young Artists Orchestra of Las Vegas, Random Access Music and Tribeca New Music. Daniel is a founding member of the Renaissance Quartet. The quartet recently went on an extensive tour of Jamaica, where they helped raise over $25,000 for Jamaica Red Cross and the Immaculate Conception High School Orchestra in Kingston. A versatile cellist, Daniel often performs with modern jazz ensembles such as Orlando Furioso (winner of the 2023 German Jazz awards) and Phillip Golub’s Abiding Memory Quintet. Raised in Tel Aviv before immigrating to Canada at the age of 13, Daniel is an alum of the Royal Conservatory in Toronto and the Juilliard School in New York.
